Why Was THIS Project Chosen as an Example?
To explain properly I must share something about me personally, when I enrolled in my first college classes and was ask to declare a major I couldn't declare one, I declared two; History and Fine Art. Yes, this is a portfolio of my coursework in the College of Business Administration at Savannah State University; I had to grow up a little bit before I could fully see the practicality of a business degree. I always had a natural affinity for the business mindset, so I thought about some people that I admired and decided that I was going to be an accountant, not just any accountant, but a CPA because that is a real accountant. A close friend of the family is a CPA and a large amount of his work is in tax, so naturally I thought I could do that too. The reason I am choosing to showcase my completion of an Individual Tax Return is because I discovered that I did not like taxes, but I was still able to master the subject. There were choices given for which tax return to file, because I was so adamant that tax would be my future career field I chose a problem that was not covered within the time of our course. I chose a comprehensive tax return from the last chapter that covered individual income taxes so that I would be exposed to as broad a range of individual income tax situations as possible.
